1. Preparing Your Home to Sell

We can help you prepare your home so that it shows well and sells with fewer days on the market. This includes far more than de-cluttering and removing unwanted, unused items.

We can coordinate necessary services and reliable vendors for you for the work that requires specialized care. However; our team can take care of the majority of the details for the average home owner and we can do this without significant expense on your part.  With help from the relocation experts at Organize To Order, you will be free to manage the intricate details that only you can manage. We can handle the rest.

I know what it takes to showcase a home without spending a lot of money and to present it in its best possible light to prospective buyers. Working together, my husband and I have sold most of our homes without assistance after updating both the home and yard and staging the homes prior to showing them to prospective buyers.

With one Craftsman style home newly built on two acres on the peninsula, we were only able to live in it long enough to design and install the landscaping and window treatments.  With inexpensive touches both to the exterior (deck chair, flower boxes, brass kickplate) and to the interior (plants and decorative touches), we showed and sold the home ourselves in spite of a downturn in the economy.

We begin with a consultation that can last from one to two hours ($200). I meet with the homeowner and/or realtor and we go from room to room, making note as we go of those inexpensive, yet all important details that can make all the difference between selling your home at the price you hope for and having it sit for days on the market. I  would then make recommendations concerning your yard, and the ’curb appeal’ from the front of your home.  Some of the work, you may prefer to do yourself. Otherwise, our team of professional organizers can assist with many aspects of ‘home-entry’ improvement to include planter box design, general clean-up of walk-ways, yard and porch. This will save you money. If there is work to be done beyond our scope, we have a referral list of qualified landscaping and home maintenance experts.  

We can also help with all aspects of de-cluttering your home and reorganizing the furnishings you already have to make each room appear more spacious and appealing. We have a ’design specialist’ who will work with us as needed for those situations that require extra consideration.

If the windows or gutters need cleaning, I would make arrangements using qualified, trusted companies from our area to do the work. If there are home repairs to be made, I would meet with three different companies; compare bids and present them to you.

 2. Unpacking, Organizing and Preparing Your New Home or Location 

We work with property management and relocation companies, realtors and home owners to assure an organized, efficient, low-stress move for you and your family or your business. Services include:

  • Space planning
  • Working with your moving crew or property management company so that your home is organized and ready for you when you arrive (our ‘Unpack and Put-Away’ Service)
  • We can assist you in the process of unpacking your household or business following a move
  • We can arrange to have the packing materials  removed for you and disposed of in an environmentally conscientious way
  • Our team takes time to thoroughly clean out the insides of the cabinets and drawers, desks, shelves, storage areas, warehouse, etc. prior to putting anything away
